Paris was wonderful with over 30000 people attending the show. You could barely move between the booths. The energy of the crowd was fascinating. People came from all over the world. We met quilters, sewers, embroiderers from Belgium, Germany, Denmark, Norway, USA, Japan and Italy. ALL vendors were happy with the sales generated at the show. Most of them reported no change in the overall sales since the economic crisis, however they had heard of shops closing down. That being said, we also met a few people who were opening new stores. 
Many new shops picked up the Valdani line, quite a few famous designers fell in love with our threads and will start working with them.
Overall, Paris was an awesome opportunity for us to meet shops/customers, designers, editors and friends from overseas.

Although attendance was lower than other years, the stores that were present did fill their stock with all the needed colors and threads. The feedback that we received from those attending the show was somewhat conflicting. While some stores were excited about the boost in sales they experienced in the last year due to people staying home and occupying themselves with crafts,rather than traveling,  other store owners complained about the sales' decrease, specially fabric, due to the bad economy. From our overall perspective regarding threads, the craft stores in general do tend to have higher sales than normal when the economy is poor since people will spend less on big ticket items and more on small ticket items like craft products.

We have been swamped within major events.
First, it was the long search for a new suitable building for Valdani.
After months and months of feverishly looking for "THE" building, we finally found the (almost) perfect one! This happened just prior to leaving for Houston, though!
So, we had to start packing right away and in a few days left for Houston, where we had a really great show, though the attendance was lower than other years and many vendors complained.
It was extremely exciting to meet with our loyal customers, distributors, shop owners, designers, even media people who feature our products. On this occasion we want  to extend our warmest THANKS to all who visited our booth to purchase lots of beautiful threads, showing their unfailing trust in our products and thus making our participation not only worthwhile, but a really GREAT SUCCESS!

When coming back home we had to actually move everything, starting with the HUGE thread stock, equipment, offices, etc., etc.. So, since November the 1st, we have been functioning at the new place and are still unpacking and shelving product....And filling orders to the best of our capabilities, taking into consideration the fact that many threads are still in yet unopened boxes.

In the meantime we received a NEW shipment from the plant with back-in-stock threads and some absolutely stunning NEW colors!!! These NEW colors this time have been created in collaboration with many designers, who requested Hand-Overdyes of some of our most popular solids: #39, #41, #145, #153, #154, #178, #196, #217. They are:
O39, O41, O145, O153, O154, O178, O217. And we will do overdyes from more solid colors in the future, as the present ones, though just listed - without even the pictures - keep selling at a fast pace!
You can order the NEW Hand-Overdyes in Three-Strand Floss® and some in size 12 Perle Cotton for now. More thread weights in these colors in the future.
